WEST NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- A body was found Saturday afternoon, near Rock Harbor Marina on the 6000 block of Robertson Avenue.

Stephen Terwilliger says he was walking to the marina to go fishing around 2:15 this afternoon.

Terwilliger said, "That's it . I come down here to go fishing then I walked up on the body. "

Terwilliger says he stumbled across the body right across from Irving Materials Inc. Terwilliger says the body looked to be a male, and was lying face down on the trail. Terwilliger called his mother and police.

Metro Police responded to the scene. Terwilliger says he did not see any injuries on the human remains and that it looked to be decomposing. Investigators are working to identify the body, the cause of death and how long the body was there before Terwilliger discovered it.

Terwilliger  added, " I hope they find out whatever went on with it. If it's a homicide or might have had a heart attack or something. I have no idea. I hope they find out who it is because I hope he wasn't killed."

Metro Police say there are no other details they can release at this time. The investigation is continuing.
