Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with TN Mornings at 5 am and News at 9 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, Tenn. -- A two-county search in middle Tennessee will resume this morning for a missing boater on Cheatham Lake.

Cheatham and Dickson County spent Monday night searching for a boater after being reported missing at 7:30 p.m. by family, according to Ashland City Fire Chief Chuck Walker. The man's truck was recovered at the Cheatham County boat ramp, while his 14 ft. boat was found near a cove in Johnson Creek in Dickson County where he fishes, he says.

The search in Cheatham County ended at 1 a.m. when high winds and rough water hampered efforts early Tuesday morning, as they continued to search the banks and water. The search in Dickson ended at about 4 a.m., also due to weather conditions.

Rob Fisher, EMA director for Dickson County, says they have an area of concentration that sonar found evidence of something. He says they will be back out this morning after 9 a.m. with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and divers.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol used a helicopter to search by air and dogs also aided in the effort.

The name of the missing boater has not been released.
