NASHVILLE, Tenn. - While names like Chris Johnson and Andrew Luck got all the attention in tonight's CLASH ON THE CUMBERLAND, one lesser-known NFL player returned home to the Midstate today. He started his career right under Friday Night Lights right here in Tennessee. Among the Indianapolis Colts is Montori Hughes, a Defensive Tackle from Murfreesboro that doesn't get a whole lot of playing time. He does have a whole lot of Titans fans cheering for him. #94 Montori Hughes has come a long way.

David Watson coached Hughes at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro when Hughes was just a 230lbs. freshman with a promising future. After graduating, Hughes turned his potential into a volunteer dream and signed with the University of Tennessee. That dream took a major hit when then UT Coach Derek Dooley dismissed Hughes from the Vols in June of 2011. Instead of giving up, Hughes traded the orange and white for the orange and blue of UT Martin.

He excelled on defense and managed to catch the eye of NFL scouts. The Indianapolis Colts drafted him the 5th round in April.
