NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Metro Police detectives are investigating a bizarre boyfriend and girlfriend murder-suicide.

The incident took place at 928 Ilawood Dr. in South Nashville. Jesse Meece's mother called police to check on him after learning he had not shown up for work since October 30th. Police conducted a welfare check on Monday afternoon and found the 45-year-old man dead on the couch from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot to the head.

Officer's told detectives they had been to the home days before on a welfare check for Meece's girlfriend Beth Straub on the 29th. At that time, officer's checked the home with Meece's permission and found nothing. But during the investigation last night, a newly built makeshift wall was found. When officers removed the wall, they found a 96-gallon wheeled trash can. The trash can had a PVC pipe running to the home's sewer line and was topped by a plexiglas window surrounded by a foam sealant.

Inside was the body of a woman, presumed to be Straub.

A receipt found from October 27th showed the purchase of 100-pounds of livestock stall deoderizer, which was inside the trash can with the woman's body.

Positive identification and cause of death are pending.
