Back-end problems could "overshadow" Healthcare.gov fixes

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with TN Mornings at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Right now the White House is calling Healthcare.gov's current status a victory. The Administration met its deadline to get the health insurance vending website working for most users, but it's not out of the woods yet. FOX NEWS Correspondent Michelle Macaluso tells us about a new deadline that's just weeks away. Speaking at a World AIDS Day event, President Obama and his Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius made no reference to this weekend's Healthcare.gov fix, but his Press Secretary did not get off as easily. While the White House says the site is now working 90% of the time and can handle 800,000 visitors in a given day, problems persist. Just today, some users were met with a jumbled web page.

Time is running out. January 1 is the day coverage begins for Americans who sign up for the federal health exchanges. Insurance companies already worried that problems with navigating Healthcare.gov will continue, now also say there may be a problem with the part of the site that collects the consumers' personal information. Insurance companies say they are receiving incomplete information or no record at all from consumers signing up on the website.
