ETOWAH, Tenn. (AP) - A man whose girlfriend's body was found in a burned house has been wounded in a shootout with police.

Multiple media outlets reported 49-year-old David Greenwood was taken into custody Monday night after the shootout with Etowah police officers.

Police had said they wanted to question Greenwood about the blaze at a McMinn County home he shared with his girlfriend, Kim Moran. She was found dead early Sunday in the burned out residence.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Greenwood was injured in the shootout and taken to a hospital for treatment.
