Sleet, Ice Let Up in Chrisitian Co. Right Off I24

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Kentucky - In Christian County right off I24 the sleet and ice let up just a little bit ago, but if you look at the ground, you can see there is a lot of moisture built up and slick spots. The icy conditions are not going to let up tonight. It is only going to get colder and more slick out on the roads. Earlier today, cars were sliding off the highway throughout Christian and Trigg Counties. Emergency crews went to more than 40 wrecks where no one was hurt and more than a dozen minor injury accidents. The Christian County Emergency Manager says even though road crews treated the streets, roads will still be dangerous and to stay at home if possible. If you are going to get out on the roads tonight, make sure you pack an emergency kit with a flashlight, a phone, some snacks and plenty of clothing items to keep you warm in case you do get stuck out in the weather.
