NASHVILLE, TN - The search is on now for a man who metro police believe shot his estranged wife in a Sam's Club parking lot this afternoon.

He was out on bond after a crime against the same woman last month.

Tonight, police want him back in custody.

Several shots fired just before 2-o'clock in this South Nashville Sam's Club parking lot.

Metro police say shoppers ran from the scene and the store inside was locked down.

A witness tells Fox 17 that shoppers crowded by the glass doors.

They were held inside before being released but were still kept from going to their cars which were now part of a crime scene.

Investigators say 63-year old Johnny Malcom Vinson found his estranged wife, Angel Pack.

They say he parked near her car and started a physical confrontation after she returned her cart.

Police say Vinson then used the gun to hit Ms. Pack., then shot her after she fell to the ground.

Her belongings remain on the pavement and bullet holes mark the car door nearby.

Police say the couple was in the final stages of divorce.

Vinson was out on 20-thousand dollars bond for charges of aggravated assault and violating the order of protection against pack last month.

In 2011, he was convicted of domestic assault against her and in 2010, he received a felony conviction and 2-year sentence for felony aggravated assault against her.

Pack was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with gunshot wounds to her upper torso and hand.

We're told her condition is non-life-threatening.

Police say Vinson fled in a maroon colored Ford Taurus.

He's wanted tonight for attempted murder, aggravated assault and violation of the order of protection against pack.
