Residents Express Water Woes in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Right now, college students living in a housing complex in Murfreesboro tell FOX17 they're fed up with their living conditions. They say they're being over-billed and they want their landlord to make it right.

By the looks of it, this is upscale student living, but several students we talked to say they are paying way more than expected. Students claim their utility overage charges keep going up.

One student said he had to pay $22 in overages in October. It more than tripled the next month. Come January, he's looking at more than $100 in overage fees. Residents claim they can't see their detailed bill because it's in the name of the apartment complex and they're splitting the water bill with up to 6 other units all on the same meter.

On top of that, some residents believe they're paying for water they don't even have. Some living there haven't had running water for days.
