SMYRNA, Tenn. -- Police say the two people found dead in Smyrna last night is the result of a murder-suicide.

A child was found walking around, unharmed, in the home at 117 Village Lake Drive where police found 28-year-old Kayleigh Dupont and 32-year-old Justin Bennett, dead Thursday night. Police responded to a 911 hang-up call.

The police investigation reveals that Bennett kicked in the front door and confronted Dupon in the upstairs bathroom, where he allegedly shot her. He then apparently turned the gun on himself.

A domestic violence incident occurred on January 14 at this residence.
