Man, Dog Stabbed in Antioch

ANTIOCH, Tenn. -- An owner witnesses his dog being stabbed overnight and is stabbed himself when he comes to the rescue.

Metro Police responded to the 911 call just after midnight to the 3100 block of Weatherstone Cove. While outside, the victim heard his dog yelp and turned the corner to find a man stabbing his dog.

The victim tackled the suspect and they fought before the suspect ran away. The victim went to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening stab wound to the shoulder.

The dog went to the emergency vet and is also expected to be okay.

K9 was unsuccessful in a track of the suspect. Police continue to investigate.
