Clarksville HS Student Planning On Bringing Gun To School Stopped By Police

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- A student planning on bringing a gun to a high school today in Clarksville is stopped.

The Chief Communications Officer for Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, Elise Shelton, tells FOX 17 News that police took care of a situation overnight involving a student who was going to bring a gun to Kenwood High School. She adds school is in session and that there will be extra police presence at the school today as a precaution. Parents have been notified.

Officer Natalie Hall, Clarksville Police Department, says the threat is neutralized and no names are being released right now.
