NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The website is carrying a petition purportedly generated by a Penn State associate professor asking the university not to hire Vanderbilt's James Franklin.

The petition says Franklin's candidacy is "appalling," and points to the Vanderbilt rape case, saying Penn State does not need a coach "alleged of a cover up."

The petition form letter claims to be from Michelle Rodino-Colocino, an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Women's Studies according to the university's website. Prior to joining Penn State, she taught at the University of Cincinnati.

FOX 17 reached out to Michelle Rodino-Colocino for confirmation and is waiting to hear from her.

Penn State's Athletic Department tweeted out today there will be a press conference on Saturday at 3:15pm. "President Rodney Erickson and Director of Athletics Dave Joyner will make a major announcement Saturday at 4:15 p.m."
