NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee National Guard's Adjunct General is fighting to keep Kiowa Warrior Helicopters and jobs. The Army is planning to eliminate the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. If that happens it would cut more than a hundred full time positions and six hundred support jobs. The cuts would have the biggest impact on aviation facilities in Jackson and Knoxville. Maj. Gen. Max Haston says getting rid of aircraft would be a mistake. The helicopters have been used stateside following natural disasters and are playing an important role on the battle field in Afghanistan.
