NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Former Mayor of Greenbrier Billy Eugene Wilson was in court on Friday to for charges of theft and misconduct after it was found he took nearly $60,000 from a Toys for Tots charity.

Wilson was accused of using the money to pay for personal expenses and used his position as Mayor to commit the theft. Friday, Wilson had the theft charges dismissed and pled guilty to official misconduct. He will now resign as Mayor immediately, serve one year of unsupervised probation and can't go on city property during that time.

Wilson also paid back $30,000 dollars, which is why the theft charges were dismissed.
