NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The legal wrangling continues between prosecutors and defense attorneys in the Vanderbilt rape case. Also for the first time we're learning what evidence will be presented during the August trial. Prosecutors submitted a list of more than twenty items including cell phones, DNA and surveillance video from Gillette Hall where the alleged rape occurred. This week however, the focus was on attorney Albert Perez Jr., one of four lawyers for rape suspect Brandon Vandenburg. A judge ruled that since he's from California, local lawyers Fletcher Long and John Herbison will have to file documents to allow him to practice in Tennessee with them acting as sponsors. State prosecutors have also filed motions to have Perez disqualified from the case because he allegedly tampered with or destroyed evidence in the rape case. Its something Perez denies. Following Wednesday's hearing Perez had harsh criticism for District Attorney General Tom Thurman for making the allegations.
