NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- One suspect in an Antioch Walmart theft Thursday night is in custody thanks to the security guard.

The two suspects allegedly stole $300-400 worth of merchandise from the Walmart on Zelida Avenue, then crashed their car at 1604 Hickory Club Drive at around 1 a.m., say Metro Police.

A store security guard chased them out to their car in the parking lot. He tased the driver, but they got away. He followed after them and came upon their crashed vehicle, where he removed the driver from the car and placed him into custody until police arrived. The passenger ran away.

The suspect is charged with aggravated assault.
