NASHVILLE, TN - One man's job search is leading to employment for others.
From former drug abuser to business owner, a north Nashville man is paying back the organization that gave him a foot forward.

Frederick Waller is the owner of OohWee Bar-B-Q, a reality he never dreamed possible.

Waller says he's been in and out of prison, off and on drugs for most of his life.

He went to Goodwill Career Solutions Center for a change.

Goodwill spokesperson Jamie Berry says Waller was one of more than 5,600 people the center helped find a job in 2013 alone.

The organization works with 1,300 employers in the area, preparing people like Waller for the workforce.

Waller made the most of it and became an entrepreneur.

He says Goodwill inspired him to do better.

Now, as a business owner himself, he does what he can to pay it forward.

It's a feeling of accomplishment he's proud of and wants others to feel, too.

This was a record-breaking year for Goodwill Career Solutions here in the midstate, putting more people to work than ever.
Their mission is funded by selling the items donated to their stores.
