NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A former police officer for several middle Tennessee departments is arrested for the second time this month.

Metro Police arrested 44-year-old Edward Holliday II, of Lebanon, Monday for burglary after he was allegedly caught trying to break in to the Ace Hardware at 2730 Lebanon Road on February 16. No entry was gained inside, but Holliday was found by police to be pulling on door handles while wearing rubber gloves. He also had a hammer on him and couldn't explain why he was there.

On Feb. 6, Holliday was arrested by Mt. Juliet Police for breaking into the Ace Hardware at 4110 North Mt. Juliet Road. Police say he smashed through the front glass door.

Holliday, who was out on $4,000 bond, is booked in Davidson County Jail on $50,000 bond. He is a former officer and employee for the Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and Metro-Nashville police departments.

Other Ace Hardware break-ins are being investigated for a possible connection.
