Gov. Haslam: New Guns in Parks Bill Misses the Mark

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Governor Bill Haslam says he's not a fan of a new proposal to keep Tennessee cities from banning guns in parks. Right now, gun owners can carry guns in parks, but local leaders have the right to opt out of the law. A bill making its way through the State Capitol would take away that veto power. Governor Haslam says he believes local leaders should keep that right. The bill has passed the State Senate but it still needs approval in the House.
