National Weather Service Surveys Storm Damage - Erika Lathon

CROSS PLAINS - Tenn. - After a night of storm storms, the National Weather Service is hitting the ground for a closer look a the damage on Friday. Downed trees and power outages were reported across the Mid-state. Surveyors say the heaviest damage was in Robertson County. In Cross Plains the roof was blow off a large barn and into the side of a house. To the North in Orlinda, an uprooted tree snagged power lines and landed on two vehicles. The National Weather Service says storm spotters did report seeing funnel clouds but there were no tornado touchdowns. Most of the damage is being blamed on straight line winds and micro bursts.
