Sky Watch Weather:

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -- A storm rolled through cities of Robertson County this morning producing lighting and hail.

Police report a house struck by lighting on the 1000 block of Archer Drive in White House at around 2 a.m., frying the appliances and electronics. They also say a doghouse was hit elsewhere.

Large hail was seen throughout the county (send in your pictures to news@fox17.com). A trained spotter reported quarter-sized hail.
Temperatures early this morning in areas of Robertson County hovered around 60 degrees.

FOX 17 Meteorologist Craig Edwards says this was an isolated pocket that developed quickly and fell apart almost as quickly. The warm temperatures helped fuel the development of this storm and will again Thursday when severe weather is next expected in middle Tennessee, he says.

Tennessee Severe Weather Awareness Week, which runs through Friday, calls attention to the peak of severe weather that occurs in the late winter and spring seasons. Historically, the spring months - especially March, April, and May - are the most active for severe weather throughout Tennessee.
