NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Friends and fans are responding this morning's news on the passing of a popular comedian.

Tim Wilson, 52, died in Nashville overnight. It's being reported that he died of a heart attack.

Wilson just released his 11th album last year with Capitol Nashville. He has worked with the likes of Jeff Foxworthy, was a favorite in syndicated radio and has had some success in country music.

Larry the Cable Guy tweeted: "Horrible news. Comedian Tim Wilson passed away tonight. I hope you were one of the lucky ones that got to see him preform. One of the best. Tim was a mentor and friend to a lot of us comedians that started in the south, Him, Foxworthy and James Gregory. One of the big 3. Hat off. My heart goes out to his wife and kids. You'll be missed Tim and thank you for all the memories."
