Tennessee Declares State of Emergency Due to Forecast

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Tennessee has declared a state of emergency given current winter weather conditions and forecasts which call for snow and ice to impact much of the state today. 

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) has also activated their emergency operations center as a precaution.

As the moisture comes into the cold air (we already have in place), it will become a mix of rain, sleet and snow.  WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: (1-3 inches of snow possible) :  Marshall, Rutherford, Cannon, Bedford, Wayne, Lawrence, Giles, Pickett, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, White, Cumberland, Coffee, Warren, Grundy and Van Buren. (2-5 inches of snow possible) : Lincoln, Moore, Franklin.
