NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dozens of college students come to Tennessee's Capitol Hill saying it's time to charge undocumented students in-state tuition rates.

Many of the young people have lived in Tennessee most of their lives, but because they are undocumented, they are charged three times as much for higher education.
Proposed legislation would give them access to in-state tuition as long as they have lived in Tennessee for at least five years, and have done well in the classroom.
Dante Bonilla currently attends community college, but he has bigger goals. "And honestly I want to have the experience of a four-year college, but that seems like an impossible dream because the price would be too high, it would be almost impossible to pay," says undocumented student Dante Bonilla.

The in-state tuition legislation is being sponsored by Republicans in both the House and Senate.
