Nissan/Infiniti Recalls Over A Million Cars for Passenger Airbag Problems-Meagan O'Halloran

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with TN Mornings at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

More than a million of you who drive 2013 or 2014 Nissan or Infiniti models  will have to take your car back to the dealership. Wednesday Nissan issued a recall because of malfunctioning passenger airbags. It all has to do with the passenger airbag computer sensor. Apparently the vehicles under recall may be having a hard time recognizing when someone is sitting in the front passenger seat meaning the airbag might not inflate during an accident. The potentially affected cars include 2013 and 2014 model Nissan Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra cars as well as 2013 Infiniti JX35's and 2014 QX50's. Nissan plans to send out letters to all potentially affected customers by mid April. You'll have to make an appointment at your local dealership, and they'll update the sensor software for you for free.
