NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat performed for patients at Centennial Women's and Children's Hospital as part of Musicians on Call.

"You've got little kids and they're walking up with IVs and they don't get to see things like this and Colbie is sitting there in a room and their eyes, their face was like, 'wow!'," said John Mayer of 107.5 FM The River, which then hosted a benefit at Anthem for the non-profit.

Musicians on Call takes performers like Darius Rucker and Kelly Clarkson to perform at the beds of hospital patients across the country.

"We kind of bring a dose of joy to those people that are having a really rough moment or having a really hard day," said Dana Sones, program director for the Nashville branch.  "We give them the opportunity to take their mind off that situation that they're having."

Thursday's benefit also featured Hot Chelle Rae and A Great Big World.
