STUDY: Facebook Could Contribute to Eating Disorders

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

Does Facebook contribute to eating disorders? According to a study published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders, women who spent more time on the social media site were more likely to worry about their weight and body shape and have eating disorders.

The study examined the activity of 960 female college students who mostly spent up to an hour on Facebook every day. Researchers looked at how important "likes" were to them and how frequently they untagged photos of themselves.
