Wife Charged in Dog Fighting Case

Police have charged a second person in the dog fighting case in north Nashville.
According to a Metro police press release sent out Monday, Brandy J. Harper, of Pewitt Road, surrendered at police headquarters Saturday evening after learning she was named in warrants charging her with one count of felony animal fighting and three counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. Harper is listed as an owner of the property on which the dogs were found and is the wife of Michael. A. Davis, 34, who is facing 30 criminal counts related to the dog fighting case.

Davis has been in jail since April 12 when he was charged in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy.

Twenty-eight dogs were removed from the Davis's home. Harper is free on $20,000 BOND. Davis remained in Jail on a $400,000 bond.
