Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn.--David Carter's ultralight crashed Saturday morning off Edwards Road. The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is still investigating what caused his flight vehicle to crash. Friends and family of the 61-year-old say, nothing appeared to be wrong with the ultralight or Carter's health.

Carter's wife, Angie Carter said,  "He was up there flying in the wild blue, thinking it couldn't get better than this. "

Carter's new bride of barely two months, collapsed in the field after arriving on the scene of the accident.

Angie Carter said, " I never believed this could have happened Mikayla because he said often: 'Honey don't worry we fly field to field to field, it will glide right in if the engine went out."

The crash happened right next to Lawicki Field, where David Carter took off from that day and kept his flight vehicle. Friend and fellow pilot, Todd Lawicki knew Carter as "Bucky." He examined Bucky Carter's ultralight after the crash.

Todd Lawicki explained, "We didn't find anything at all, and everything looked like it was where it was supposed to be and working."

Angie Carter added, " I know there has to be a reason because all things work for good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose."

More purpose came through David and Angie Carter's relationship. They met last summer and planned to marry on May 17th, 2014. The couple could not wait, though. They planned a wedding in two weeks, and got married on Valentines Day. The ceremony took place on a Florida beach, with Angie's daughter, Felicia Taraczkozy right by their side.

Angie Carter added, "All three of us had found something that we had looked for our whole lives, we just fit together like a puzzle, we fell more in love with each other everyday."

Taraczkozy said, "I'm heartbroken, just not enough time with him. The most important lesson I learned from him was to live life to it's fullest."

Family and friends say they are remembering David "Bucky" Carter as a spontaneous, funny, bright and genuine man. He did audio video work for years, currently worked at Caterpillar, and over his life time he played in a band and raced cars. He is also being remembered for his love for flying and spirituality.

Carter said " I can't ask for anything more than that. I know where he is at and that he left with peace in his heart ."
David "Bucky" Carter's funeral is Thursday, April 17th at Grace Chapel (3279 Southall Rd. Franklin, TN ) at 10 A.M.

Memorials may be made to Music City Tres Dias, PO Box 696, Brentwood, TN 37024 or Middle Tennessee Tres Dias, PO Box 1066, Hendersonville, TN 37077. Celebration of Life will be held 10:00AM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Grace Chapel, Franklin, TN, Pastor Rick Cua officiating.  For more information, Click Here!
