Nashville Sounds Play Last Opener at Greer -- Sky Arnold

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

NASHVILLE, TENN Ernest Burns has more memories than most of Greer Stadium.

He was here for the first pitch ever in 1978 and is taking his great grandaughter to Friday's final home opener.

It should go without saying that Burns is going to miss sitting in row OO. The Sounds will be moving into a new stadium near Germantown in 2015.

"Just probably the atmosphere because it's got a little age on it," said Burns.
The Sounds have several ideas how to honor that age.

The team is planning give-aways throughout the season to pay hommage to the park's history.

That includes vintage bobble head dolls and even a snowglobe with a miniature guitar shaped scoreboard inside.

General Manager Brad Tammen says he will also bring in special guests with a historical connection to the stadium.

Friday the opening pitch was thrown by the grandson of Herschel Greer.

"We're gonna bring dozens of people like that back to commemorate and bring back those great memories here at Greer Stadium," said Tammen.
Back in row OO, Burns has plenty of memories but he is also thinking about making some new ones.
"Right now I'm just thinking I hope I make it for the new one," laughed Burns.
