Lincoln County Looks to Recovery After Tornado -- Sky Arnold

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

Josh Turner arrived at 6:30 in the morning Wednesday to help clean debris from Monday's tornado in Lincoln county.

He didn't come empty-handed.

Turner's employer Berzett Excavating donated lots of heavy equipment to clean up the mess left by the storm.

"Separating all the metal from the wood and cutting trees down and all that stuff," said Turner about his job.

At last report the estimated E-F4 tornado destroyed 35 homes and killed two people.

The neighborhood where Turner was working is full of people lending a hand and as Marlon Simmons discovered, a heart.

"There's nothing like a pat on the back to tell you things are gonna get better you know," said Simmons.

Simmons says lots of relatives and friends pitched in to help clean and look for anything he might be able to salvage like pictures.

Simmons says he plans to rebuild his home and he says the volunteer spirit is a good example of why he loves it.

"We're rural, everybody chips in and helps out," said Simmons
