UPDATE: Missing Nolensville Teen Found Safe -- Erika Lathon

UPDATE (8:55 p.m.): Officials said Smithburg was found safe at his campsite with food. He has been taken to be medically examined.

Following his check-up, he will be sent to juvenile court where he will be petitioned as a runaway, before facing a judge.

According to officials, he has not yet been interviewed, so there is no reason known why he seems to have run away.

 

UPDATE: (8:38 p.m.): Williamson County Sheriff says teen was found at a campsite he set up in Rutherford County. He is said to be safe.

UPDATE (6:46 p.m.):  Police now believe Smithburg ran away from home with a machete and a bow and arrow.



ORIGINAL REPORT:

A property owner on Cooks Lane in Smyrna says that he spotted a missing teen from Nolensville.

Christopher Smithburg, 16, was reported missing last week from his home in Williamson County. Police and volunteers have been searching for him for days.

With news of this spotting, police said they are focusing their search on this part of Rutherford County.
