NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- A grandmother is killed in a Davidson County crash, granddaughter injured.

The woman, identified as 58-year-old Bertha Furkins of River Trace, was driving along the 4800 block of Ashland City Highway when she lost control of the truck. Metro police say she veered off the road and down into a ravine.

The truck rolled several times over a railroad track before hitting a tree. Police say the woman died at the scene.

The little girl is identified as Furkins' 5-year-old granddaughter. She went to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Metro shut down part of road, for about an hour and a half. Right now, police are investigating what caused the crash. Names haven't been released yet.
