NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The original Star Wars  Trilogy blasted into theaters in the 1970'S and 80's. More than two decades later, the prequel films followed: creating a multi-generational force of fans.

Jeff Krinks says, "Parents love it, kids love it, it's really a cool family thing."

It got even cooler for some fans at the Adventure Science Center in Nashville today with the international event :"May the Fourth Be With You."

A play on the movie's line: "may the force be with you."

Jeff Krinks, with the Adventure Science Center says," All over the world they are celebrating Star Wars, so we thought we would do it too."

Darth Vader even put down his light saber  to celebrate and picked up a clipboard to help judge the kid's costume contest with Pricess Leia and Luke Skywalker--

It also provided education; explaining the science behind the sci-fi films.

Krinks says, "like magnetic force and some of the physical science about space travel too."

Kids got to travel  on the Millennium Falcon, with a replica of the ship console. It's part of a world-wide project to re-create the entire space craft, which will be assembled and land right here in Nashville.

Chris Lee is part of the project and  says, "  We want to make one that people can come and see and learn how did these things work and tie into the universe of Star Wars and actual science.

Elijah Millar, young fan says," I just like star wars because the new movie is going to come out. On what day does it come out?"

Star Wars Episode 7 is already in the works and opens in 2015.

In the meantime...

Millar says, "May the force be with you."

You can follow the progress of the Full Scale Millennium Falcon Project online.

Adventure Science Center will have an adult Star Wars Theme night on July 31st.
