South Precinct Nashville detectives have arrested a convicted burglar who they believe was responsible for several business break-ins, according to a Monday press release from the department.

Terry Clay Tarrents, 58, is accused of breaking into Alvas Automotive & Tire, 530 Thompson Lane at 1:30 a.m. and Shell convenience store, 5016 Nolensville Pike at 4:30 a.m.

Detectives developed a description of Tarrents and his vehicle, a gold GMC pickup truck. Officers stopped him in the 3000 block of Nolensville Pike at 6:30 a.m. During a consent search of the truck, officers recovered burglary tools and a wallet taken during the break-in at Alvas Automotive.

Tarrents was charged with two counts of burglary, possession of burglary tools and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $34,000. Tarrents has convictions for six previous business burglaries, auto burglary, theft and cocaine possession.

Tarrents is suspected in other similar break-ins.
