Columbia, TN

36 year old Thad Giddens wasn't supposed to live past the age of two according to his doctors. He says St. Jude Children's Research Hospital saved his life, giving him another chance to have his own family and even  have a son named after him,  Thaddeus Giddens Junior.

Giddens says, "I'm just glad St Jude is here. I really am. I wouldn't have 3 wonderful kids, a great wife.

Giddens' employer, KCS construction in Columbia, is a big donor of this year's St. Jude Dream Home, having contributed all the concrete labor for the half million dollar home--- for free.  Giddens says it makes him feel good his employer is contributing and he believes we should all give a little more. Giddens' boss, Wade Kincaid of KCS Construction, says he's honored to help adding, "This is a big deal in being able to fund that and it allowed him to live and fortuantely he's still with us today to share the story."

St. Jude treats the sickest of the sick.  The children all other hospitals have given up on.  While they're trying pioneering protocols on one end of the campus, they're simultaneously making new discoveries in the lab to save even more children.
