Nikki Burgess Likely Dead

Metro police now say Nikki Burgess is "likely dead" and the  father of Burgess' 10-year-old son is considered a person of interest in her disappearance.  Detectives executed a search warrant in Andersonville, TN Thursday at the home of Caleb J. Cannon. 

Burgess, of Hermitage, hasn't been seen since May 23.   Police say Cannon was mentioned in a text message Burgess sent the afternoon she disappeared.

A statement from metro police says detectives have been in Anderson County several times over the past week as part of the investigation.  "On Tuesday, a search warrant was served on Cannon for a DNA sample," the statement said. 

Burgess' 10-year-old is now in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.
