Brady Bunch Housekeeper, Alice, Dies After Fall

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

(AP) -- Alice, from "The Brady Bunch," has died. Ann B. Davis became the most famous housekeeper in the country, as she played Alice Nelson on the long-running sitcom. She was 88.

A friend says Davis fell Saturday at her San Antonio home. More than a decade before The Brady Bunch went on the air in 1969, Davis played the razor-tongued secretary on "The Bob Cummings Show," which brought her two Emmys. Davis considered her ordinary look an asset. She said she knew "a couple hundred glamour gals who are starving" in Hollywood.

Florence Henderson says she's "shocked and saddened!" The Brady Bunch stars adds she's "lost a wonderful friend and colleague."
