UPDATE: Second Arrest in Attempted Robbery of E. Nashville Woman

A second suspect is arrested Thursday in the attempted robbery incident of a woman in east Nashville. Metro police arrest 20-year-old Maurice Williams Jr., as an accomplice in the act. Witnesses tell police that Williams had been carrying the gun, showed it to them and even let one of them fire it just moments before the robbery. He is booked in the Davidson County Jail on $100,000.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A 14-year-old is shot after he allegedly attempts to rob a woman in east Nashville.

A teen and two others attempted to rob a woman on the porch outside her apartment at the 400 block of South 4th Street at around 2 a.m. Her roommate heard the scuffle and tackled the boy and disarming him, according to Metro police.

During the altercation, the gun went off, grazing the suspect in the hand. The juvenile went to Skyline Medical Center for treatment and is released. Police say he is now charged with aggravated assault and attempted aggravated robbery. 

The two other suspects are on the loose.
