Ben Folds Writes Letter to #SaveStudioA -- Mikayla Lewis

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Singer/songwriter Ben Folds is creating buzz, after writing a letter to save his studio.

For the last 12 years, Folds has been a tenant of the historic Studio A site, which is now Folds' Nashville Sound studio. Folds put millions of dollars into the space, that is now for sale.

Folds posted the letter on his Facebook page yesterday saying, "On what would have been Chet Atkins 90th birthday last week, " Folds found out that his building is being sold potentially to Brentwood-based, Bravo Development.

Chet Atkins and Owen Bradley built Studio A, next to Studio B on Music Row. Famous artists like Dolly Parton and The Beach Boys have filled the space with their music.

Sorrel Brigman says, " There are certain places where magic happens, where people feel comfortable enough to create and I see that happen here on a regular basis.  the thought that it might not happen here anymore is quite tragic. "

Brigman has been the studio manager for the last four years, and says it's impacting everyone that a commercial development company might be the new owners.

Sorrel Brigman says, "He wrote a beautiful letter that I think expresses what all of us feel "hey Nashville we're Music City, not condo city."

Folds writes: "Selfishly Id love to remain the tenant and caretaker of this amazing studio space. I love it dearly. But if I must let it go in the interest of change, my only hope is that it remain intact and alive. "

Sorrel Brigman says, "Ben said in his letter, the success of 2014 is built on the successes of the past. And I feel like this building is still successful and I hope Nashville continues to be successful but let's not only look forward but also remember where we've been."
Tim Reynolds with Bravo Development could not be reached for comment.

Several other stars and thousands of fans are now tweeting :"#SaveStudioA."
