Two In Critical Condition and One Dead after Fatal Accident

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- An accident on I-65 Northbound turns deadly.
Two people on a motorcycle, the driver 34 year old Eric Lee Knight and a passenger 27 year old Abigail McCormick,  were going Northbound on I-65.  A pick up truck driven by 45 year old Gregory Crabtree Jr. of Joelton was trying to retrieve pieces of tire tread because his tire blew out.

Knight's motorcycle struck Crabtree who was in the far right lane of I-65 north.  The impact ejected both Knight and McCormick from the motorcycle.

Metro Police say Knight died at the scene from his injuries.  McCormick and Crabtree  suffered critical injuries in the accident.  McCormick was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Crabtree was transported to Skyline Medical Center.

Metro Police say there was no indication of alcohol of drugs.  The investigation says the pedestrian in the roadway was the reason the accident happened.
