NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Tennessee is improving when it comes to our kids, but there is still work to be done.

According to the new report, Tennessee ranks 36th in the nation for the economic well being of children, a slight improvement over our #37 rank last year. Tennessee did improve in child health rankings, rising to a ranking of 31st in the country compared to a 33rd rank last year. It is still a big departure from the states fall from a ranking of 16th in the nation in 2012.

Tennessee also saw improvements in teen births, child & teen death rates, and jumped from ranking 42 in education to 37th in the nation.
