NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- According to a CNBC report, Tennessee ranks as #1 in America's "Worst States to Live," but is considered among the "Best States for Doing Business." The report cites a violent crime rate and poor health rating as the primary factors for the low quality of life ranking. However, the report does add Tennessee was ranked 14th overall among the "Best States for Businesses.

The state scored highly on living up to our claims of economic development due to our low cost of doing business, workforce, infrastructure and low cost of living.

Kentucky, Alabama and Indiana were also among the "Worst States to Live," but were not ranked as favorable as Tennessee in business.
