Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. -- Old Hickory residents say an empty lot behind their homes may be inviting crime into their community. The grass along Old Hickory Boulevard and Grandwood Boulevard hasn't been cut for some time and is five feet tall in some places. Home owners say the wooded lot provides the perfect cover for criminal activity. They're also concerned about several home burglaries that have occurred since January. Homeowners suspect the crimes are being committed by people who walk through the vacant lot that leads from their backyards to a nearby shopping center. On Tuesday, FOX 17 contacted the real estate company that manages the property. A spokesperson tells FOX 17 they'll work with the property owner to get the grass cut now that they've been made aware of the neighborhood concerns.
