Woman Texts Man Who Stole Her Van, He Returns It

(FOX4 KANSAS CITY) INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - A single mother of five lost her van to a thief, but then he returned it after she texted him on a phone left inside the vehicle.

It happened at a KMart in Independence, Mo. Megan Bratten ran inside for about 15 minutes to pick up some last-minute school supplies. When she came out, her van was gone.

That's when she remembered her estranged husband's cell phone was still in the vehicle, so she sent a text, asking for the van to be returned. Six hours later it was. Bratten said she's so relieved that even if the thief was caught, she still wouldn't press charges.
