Experts Say United States is Not at Risk for Ebola Outbreak-Meagan O'Halloran

NASHVILLE- A Vanderbilt professor and expert in infectious disease is assuring the public the United States is not at risk when it comes to the Ebola outbreak. Dr. William Schaffner said Emory Hospital, Vanderbilt, St. Thomas, or any other major hospital is capable and equipped to handle the deadly and incurable virus.

The risk is essentially zero. This is not a virus thats going to become established in the U.S. and thats because its hard to acquire said Dr. Schaffner Sunday night.

Dr. Kent Brantly is a medical missionary who contracted the disease while helping other victims of the outbreak in west Africa. Dr. Brantly was transferred back to the United States in a bio containment suit under top security measures and is currently being treated in an isolated unit of the hospital in Atlanta.
