Police and researchers are looking into whether skull fragments found on Wednesday belong to a missing Livingston woman, according to Livingston Police Department Chief Greg Etheredge.

Authorities believe the fragments may belong to Loretta Fonzie Bowmer, who was reported missing in February of this year.

The fragments were found in a wooded area in Livingston, Overton County.

Part of the recovery team is being conducted in cooperation with Dr. Berryman from the Middle Tennessee State University Forensic Institute and his research team. They have been on-site, assisting in the actual collection and processing of the crime scene.
