NASHVILLE, Tenn -- Hundreds of popular comedians have performed at Zanies Comedy Club. Actor and Comedian, Robin Williams never took the stage but he did visit Zanies last summer. Williams was in town filming a movie and stopped in to see a fellow comic. Comedy Club Owner, Brian Dorfman says Williams sat at the bar and watched the show as a patron. Other guests didn’t notice him. After the show Williams spent several hours backstage chatting about the show and other topics. Williams death has sparked a lot of discussion about suicide. Comedian Ralphie May tweeted “comics are sad people.” Licensed Professional Counselor, Susan Gillpatrick of Centerstone says 1 in 5 adults will suffer a mental health episode and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help or offer assistance to a friend in crisis. Centerstone and the State of Tennessee have teamed up for the “Zero Suicide Initiative.” Click the link below to learn more about the resources available.
