Saving You Money: Southeast's Largest Consignment Sale

Stacy Case
Franklin

For this mother of three, Kimberly Pitt,  shopping this semi annual Encores South consignment sale is a way of life.  She buys an entire season's wardrobe for each child here and says she rarely buys retail.

The Franklin woman says her kids can't wait to see what all she got them. "They probably get more when I shop here than they do at Christmas."

More because everything here it's 50 to 75% off what you'd pay retail, even the brand-new stuff which there's plenty of.

Pitt holds up a Spider Man costume she found for $10 bucks and says she just bought the same costume for $20 at the store.  She's taking the more expensive one back to the store.

Brentwood's Connie Hasty and another mom started this consignment sale in a garage 22 years ago.   She calls it recycling at its finest.  Toys, furniture, kids clothes,  adult clothes----  you name it they've got it and they want to sell it.  Hasty jokes the only thing they don't have is live plants.

The sale fills three gymnasiums and features over 85 thousand items.  It's a week long consignment sale that starts this Saturday August 16.  First time moms can shop at 9am Saturday by pre registering on the Encores South Consignment website.
The sale opens to the public at 1pm.
